US President Donald Trump said American forces had “totally obliterated every military target” on Iran’s Kharg Island. Trump’s remarks came as Iranian media reported that Kharg Island was targeted by airstrikes on March 14. More than 15 explosions were heard across Kharg Island during the US attack on Iran’s primary oil-export hub, according to Iran’s semiofficial Fars News Agency. The agency said the strikes appeared to target several sites, including army air-defense systems, a naval base, the airport control tower and a helicopter hangar. Witnesses cited by Fars said thick smoke was rising from parts of the island, but oil infrastructure wasn’t damaged, the outlet said.
