Sen. Markwayne Mullin, nominee for Homeland Security secretary, responded to Sen. Rand Paul's accusations in his opening statement that he does not decry political violence. "You calling me a liar is not accurate," Mullin said. He took a shot at Paul's reputation for breaking with Republicans on past votes. "It seems like you fight Republicans more than work with us," Mullin said. He added that he didn't want a personal grudge to get in the way of his duty. "I have a job to do and I don't like to fail at anything, I'm willing to put it aside if you are willing to put it aside... I'm not perfect, I don't claim to be perfect."
