Tunisia's top court set to rule in ‘conspiracy against the state’ case • FRANCE 24 English

In Tunisia, the Court of Cassation is set to issue its final ruling in the “conspiracy against the state” case. In April 2025, 37 people – most of them prominent political figures opposed to President Kais Saied – were sentenced to prison in connection with the case. Several human rights organisations have condemned the trial as unjust and called for the release of all political detainees. The appeal represents the defendants’ last legal avenue to overturn their convictions, according to a press release from Amnesty International. But defence lawyers and the detainees’ families remain pessimistic, as FRANCE 24’s Lilia Blaise reports. #Tunisia #conspiracy #justice 🔔 Subscribe to France 24 now: https://f24.my/YTen 🔴 LIVE - Watch FRANCE 24 English 24/7 here: https://f24.my/YTliveEN 🌍 Read the latest International News and Top Stories: https://www.france24.com/en/ Like us on Facebook: https://f24.my/FBen Follow us on X: https://f24.my/Xen Bluesky: https://f24.my/BSen and Threads: https://f24.my/THen Browse the news in pictures on Instagram: https://f24.my/IGen Discover our TikTok videos: https://f24.my/TKen Get the latest top stories on Telegram: https://f24.my/TGen
